Settling in for the long run...

It's been a month of layoff and lock down for me and my family and most of the USA. I find talk of a "new normal" a bit alarming considering there is no normal in my opinion. Only "relatively normal." With the involuntary time off, I dove right in to my job hunt by putting out feelers to recruiters, updating my resume and engaging my network of colleagues about the ongoing impact of the shutdown on businesses. The consensus was that sharp companies with a large back log of projects would keep working but there would be a freeze on any new hires unless specifically targeted.

I know there are ongoing projects but I also know the small businesses that are the engines of construction in South Florida rely on multiple projects at a time to maintain their bottom line.
