With the onset of the pandemic, I began preparing for the Professional Engineer Exam in Florida while also using this time to complete Project Manager Certification from PMI (Project Management Institute). Prior to the COVID19 economic shutdown, I worked for a Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) contractor where I assisted in structural design as well as overall life-cycle of projects from estimate and bidding, to procurement, management and closeout.
2015 - 2019
Market Field Engineer / Application Development Engineer
I worked for the US subsidiary of Sika, a Swiss specialty chemical company which supplied the building sector and automobile industry. Specifically I served as the technical lead for the Silicone and Structural Glazing (Vertical Glass) group within Target Market Industry. In this role, I managed and oversaw the proper use, application and maintenance of structural glazing silicones by customers in manufacturing of curtain wall units as well as Insulating glass units (Windows, Doors, Glass Railings). My tasks included design & plan review, field & factory inspections, CW assembly fabrication & testing, all ASTM laboratory testing as well training and quality control.
Part of cross-functional product development team which included R&D Chemists, Marketing, Engineers and Plant Managers.
I was also able to gain valuable sales experience traveling nationwide both training and supporting the Sales team.
2001-2015
Project Manager
Immediately after college I stepped right into the burgeoning construction market in South Florida quickly earning my way from a project engineer on multi-family residential projects up to project manager on larger beachfront High rises and eventually to the big apple where I was further challenged with new conditions and market. Before making my way up north, I started a project management company to pick up and complete abandoned projects due to the Great Recession on 2008. My experience working on high end interiors, and finishes for demanding clients remains key to my work ethic today.
